Cookie Policy

1. What Are Cookies
Cookies are small text files placed on your device by a website you visit. They are widely used to make websites work, to improve performance, and to provide information to the site owner.
This policy explains which cookies Narrate sets, why, and how you can control them. Our platform is available at narrate.audio.
2. Cookies We Use
The cookies listed below are stored after sign-in. Auth.js may also set short-lived transient cookies (state, PKCE) during the OAuth sign-in flow; these are discarded once sign-in completes and are not stored between visits. We do not use advertising, tracking, or analytics cookies at this time.
| Cookie name | Purpose | Duration | Required? |
|---|---|---|---|
| authjs.session-token | Maintains your authenticated session after signing in. Without this cookie you would need to sign in on every page load. | 30 days | Yes — strictly necessary |
| authjs.csrf-token | Protects against cross-site request forgery (CSRF) attacks by verifying that form submissions originate from Narrate. | Session | Yes — strictly necessary |
3. Third-Party Cookies
Narrate does not load third-party scripts that set cookies. Embedded audio players and RSS feeds do not place cookies on your device.
If you access Narrate through a podcast directory such as Spotify or Apple Podcasts, those platforms may set their own cookies in accordance with their own privacy policies.
4. Managing Cookies
The session and CSRF cookies (authjs.session-token and authjs.csrf-token) are strictly necessary for the platform to function. Blocking them will prevent you from signing in as a creator. They do not require consent under GDPR's legitimate-interest exemption for technically essential cookies.
You can manage or delete cookies at any time through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to refuse new cookies, delete existing cookies, or be notified when a cookie is being set. Refer to your browser's help documentation for instructions.
We set only strictly-necessary cookies, so there is nothing optional to opt out of. Blocking the session and CSRF cookies via your browser will prevent you from signing in as a creator.
